Born in London with Southern Irish roots, Helen Glavin is a UK-based composer, musician and lyricist. Helen studied piano and singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and compositions include music for theatre, choral works, solo piano and dance. Music from Helen's dramatic choral work for 100 voices The Phoenix Cantata was performed in Amsterdam, conducted by the Dutch musical director Leenke de Lege. Also through an international dance therapy movement Helen was privileged to know the late Princess Christina of the Netherlands and was delighted that Christina attended a showcase performance of The Phoenix Cantata in the UK.
Helen's signature sound is influenced by classical, jazz and world music. She now releases Leo Rising, her latest solo piano album on The Way Beyond Music label.
